recently traveled through Kamakhya Devi Railway Station, and the experience was overall smooth and convenient. The station is one of the important railway hubs in Guwahati and is fairly well-managed. The platforms are spacious, and basic amenities like seating areas, drinking water, and restrooms are available. The station is usually busy, but the crowd is handled in an organized manner. Signboards and platform information are clear, which makes navigation easy for passengers. The station area outside has good connectivity with autos, taxis, and local transport, making it simple to reach nearby places or continue the journey further. The surroundings are relatively clean compared to many other busy stations. Overall, Kamakhya Devi Railway Station is a decent and functional station with steady facilities, helpful staff, and good connectivity. A reliable stop for travelers visiting Guwahati, Kamakhya Temple, or other parts of Assam.

"Kamakhya Junction is a vital station with a generally good atmosphere. The facilities are decent and it serves as a convenient gateway for pilgrims and travelers. My main observation, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is the significant disturbance from the ongoing construction. It's quite noisy and can be a bit chaotic to navigate. Once the work is completed, I'm sure it will be a 5-star station. Until then, just be prepared for the temporary inconvenience."

Although a less busy station than Guwahati this station is located near Maa Kamakhya Temple which is convenient if you are planning to visit Maa Kamakhya Temple. This station offers connectivity all over India. There are various budget friendly hotels located nearby. Avoid eating food outside the station, good restaurants and eateries are located at a distance from the station. Overall a good station offering all basic amenities and cleanliness.

Kamakhya Railway Station (Station Code: KYQ) is the second largest and one of the busiest railway hubs in Guwahati, Assam. It serves as a vital gateway for pilgrims visiting the Kamakhya Temple and travelers heading to the Northeast. 1. Key Route & Connectivity The station is a major junction where several critical railway lines converge: * Main Line: It sits on the Barauni–Guwahati line, connecting the Northeast to the rest of India via West Bengal and Bihar. * The Goalpara Route: It is a key point on the New Bongaigaon–Goalpara Town–Kamakhya line, which is an alternative route to the main line via Rangiya. * Proximity to Guwahati: It is located just 6–7 km west of the main Guwahati Railway Station (GHY). Almost all trains entering or leaving Guwahati pass through Kamakhya. 2. Major Train Connections Kamakhya is a terminal for many long-distance "Superfast" and "Express" trains. Some notable routes originating or passing through include: * To Delhi: North East Express (12505) and Brahmaputra Mail. * To Mumbai: Karmabhoomi Express (22512) and LTT–Agartala AC SF Express. * To South India: Kamakhya–SMVT Bengaluru AC SF Express (12552) and Chennai Central–Guwahati Special. * To Kolkata: Kamakhya–Puri Express and Kanchanjungha Express. * High-Speed: It is a stop for the New Jalpaiguri–Guwahati Vande Bharat Express. 3. Station Infrastructure * Platforms: It has 4 platforms equipped with modern amenities like escalators and foot overbridges. * Zone/Division: It falls under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone, Lumding Division. * Headquarters: The station is located in Maligaon, which is also the headquarters of the Northeast Frontier Railway. 4. Local Access * Kamakhya Temple: The station is only about 3–4 km from the foot of the Nilachal Hill (where the temple is located), making it much more convenient for pilgrims than the main Guwahati station. * Transport: Prepaid taxis, app-based cabs (Uber/Ola), and auto-rickshaws are readily available 24/7.

Thereal gateway of seven sisters of Bharat(India). The place of Kamakhya Devi temple, one of major Shakti peeths. It's a beautiful railway station on mountain ranges besides the ferocious Brahmaputra River. Yes lots of renovations needed here but it'll be done eventually.
