Uzan Bazar Govt. Ferry Ghat (Umananda Ghat Govt.) is a gateway to a beautiful river journey, deserving of five stars for the scenic ride. However, a crucial detail for visitors is the dual ferry system operating here. Both government and private ferries share the same space, and unfortunately, the private ferry charges significantly more—up to ten times the government rate—for the identical route. As first-time visitors, we were unintentionally directed to the private ferry, leading to a feeling of being overcharged. This experience was shared by many fellow passengers. Clearer signage and more visible directions to the government ferry are desperately needed to prevent confusion and ensure tourists are aware of their options. Increased visibility, such as banners and directional signs, would greatly improve the experience and prevent others from feeling misled. The government ferry itself is a great value, but the lack of clear information overshadows the positive aspects.

If anyone wants to visit Umananda temple by cruise/ferry, pay attention that there are two different rates - ₹40/- per person (government cruise) and ₹200/- per person (private cruise). Ticket counter for both cruise are side by side. I think the only drawback of government cruise is that it may be less frequent.

New ferry terminal. Don't get confused by the old maps locations and come straight down to the pier. Be careful of ferry times since there's very little to see on the island and a super long wait in between departures.

200/- per person to & from were very good experience, even u will get tea etc on that for paying it

Tourists should be informed that a govt and a private ferry coexist at this place side by side. The rate of the private ferry is 10 times than the govt one for exactly the same route and same service. There is no clear direction to the govt ferry and you will end up on the private ferry if you are a first timer. We literally felt robbed and cheated by the whole incident. Many copassenger felt the same way. The Govt ferry should be more visible with banner, Direction etc for awareness.
